The oil pressure gauge is mainly used to measure the oil pressure when the engine lubrication system is running. It is composed of meter, conduit and thread. It is the detection before the oil pressure gauge test. The oil filter with check function and the O-ring on the cylinder block side of the filter are normal. The oil is diluted by moisture or unburned fuel mixture. The oil viscosity is not suitable for the expected temperature. The oil pressure sensor is incorrect or faulty. The oil filter is blocked and the oil bypass valve is faulty. Check the lubrication system, check the oil level, run the engine and remove the oil pressure sensor.
Use of oil pressure gauge:
1.Park the vehicle on a horizontal surface, wait long enough (2-3 minutes) for the oil to return, and measure whether the oil level is too low. Add the recommended grade of engine oil and fill the crankcase until the oil level reaches the "full" mark on the oil dipstick.
2.Run the engine and confirm that the vehicle pressure gauge or indicator does not show low pressure or no oil pressure.
3.Remove the oil pressure sensor or another engine cylinder block oil passage plug.
4.Compare the reading with the specification. Taking the new LaCrosse LDK engine as an example, the minimum oil pressure at idle speed is 206 kPa and the maximum oil pressure at 1000 rpm is 482 kPa.
5.Install oil pressure sensor or oil passage plug.And so on.
The sensor of the oil pressure gauge is a piezoresistive sensor. It is firmly connected to the engine oil pipeline with threads. The oil pressure pushes the contact piece to move on the resistance, which changes the resistance value, thus affecting the amount of current from the instrument to the ground. Drive the pointer to swing. Because the oil pressure has a certain pressure range, in order to be clear. At present, many automobile oil pressure gauges are indicated by indicator lights. If it is still on when the engine is running. It means that the engine lubrication system may be abnormal.
The electric oil pressure gauge can shows the oil pressure , but not read voltage or amperage. If need read the voltage or amperage , can install a voltmeter and ammeter gauge.
