m14 water temp gauge sensor

The M14 water temperature sensor is the most commonly used sensor for water temp gauges. The sensor of the water temperature gauge is 12V, while the sensor of the engine control unit is 5V, so they cannot be interchanged. In addition, their plugs have different shapes. The difference between them is simple: the former has only one wire in the plug, while the latter has two wires in the engine control unit plug. Symptoms of malfunctioning water temperature sensor: abnormal display on the vehicle's water temperature gauge, unstable idle speed, and weak acceleration.

1. The water temperature sensor of the vehicle has malfunctioned, with the most obvious manifestation being the abnormal display of the water temperature gauge. The pointer of the water temperature gauge has remained stationary for a long time, and it may have been in a low or high temperature state, while the vehicle has not experienced any abnormalities.

2. If the water temperature sensor of the vehicle malfunctions, it can also cause the vehicle to experience unstable idle speed. When the water temperature sensor malfunctions, it will not sense the transmission signal of the mixed gas and cannot provide mixed gas to the engine, affecting the stability of the engine.

3. The water temperature sensor of the vehicle has malfunctioned, causing the vehicle to experience weak acceleration and affecting the fuel injection rate of the engine, thereby increasing the fuel consumption of the vehicle.

Impact on the vehicle : When the water temperature sensor is broken , it will affect the normal operation of the vehicle . At this point , the indicator needle of the car's water temperature gauge is stationary and will point to the highest position . In addition , it is difficult to start a cold car because the water temperature sensor is damaged , and when the cold car starts, it displays the temperature signal of the hot car. At this time , the electronic control unit cannot receive the electrical signal of the excessively rich mixed gas, but can only provide the engine with a relatively sparse mixed gas. Damaged water temperature sensors can also lead to an increase in fuel consumption and unstable idling of the vehicle . When the car wants to accelerate, it is quite difficult , and even when the driver fully presses the accelerator, the engine speed cannot be increased.
