r53 oil temp gauge

Most cars have oil temperature gauge and water temperature gauge on the dashboard, while BMW only has oil temperature gauge for a simple reason.

First of all, a long time ago, BMW had a water temperature gauge. But in the past, the water temperature gauge of BMW was useless. We all know that the most suitable temperature for the engine is 80 degrees, while the pointer range of the BMW water temperature gauge is too large. The temperature in the middle is 75 degrees to 115 degrees, and the pointer will not move if it does not exceed 115 degrees. Moreover, if the water temperature reaches 125 degrees, there will be the risk of cylinder burning, which does not give people a response at all. Therefore, once the pointer in the middle moves backward, the engine will be in a dangerous state.

R53, although the supercharging efficiency of supercharging is far less than that of turbocharging, the original R53 cast iron engine definitely has better refitting quality than R56. For the original 170hp power, even if the 100hp engine body is upgraded without replacing the forged products, it can bear it. What's more crazy is that some people change the original supercharger to double rotors, and then use NOS to increase the maximum power to more than 300hp at one stroke, In terms of interior decoration, the most conspicuous thing is to add four instruments of defi pressurization, water temperature, oil temperature and oil pressure. Another advantage of adding instruments is that the maximum pressurization value or engine operation state can be observed at any time.

Finally, BMW has only oil temperature gauge but no water temperature gauge, because the existence of water temperature gauge is too redundant. Moreover, because the scale and pointer of the water temperature gauge are too troublesome, when the owner observed the water temperature gauge, he found that the water temperature has reached the critical point, and he didn't rush to the stop. So it's better to use the oil thermometer directly, and it's more convenient to alarm when it reaches 100 degrees Celsius. Driving is a very focused thing. You can't put your experience elsewhere. If you can't drive again, you can often observe the water temperature gauge, so leave an oil temperature gauge. When the engine is in danger, send an alarm to remind the owner to stop.
