vintage look automotive voltage gauge

Generally, when the 12V battery of a car is off, the voltage should be about 12.8v (plus or minus 0.3V). If the voltage is lower than 12.5V, supplement power in time. When the 12V battery is fully charged, the general voltage is normal around 13V. If the voltage after full charge is only 12V or even less than 12V, it indicates that the performance of the battery has been weakened and has reached the service life. The vintage look automotive voltmeter gauge is too.

The nominal voltage of single lead-acid battery is 2 V, and the normal termination discharge voltage is 1.8 v. the general automobile battery is actually 12 V formed by six single batteries in series. Therefore, the termination discharge voltage is 10.8 V, and the output voltage of automobile engine and standard charger is 13.8 v. therefore, the upper limit of the normal voltage of 12 V automobile battery is 13.8 V and the lower limit is 10.8 v.

The instrument panel of the car centralizes the instruments of the whole car. It is like a window that shows the working condition of the car. The instruments on the dashboard of different cars are different, but the conventional instruments of general cars include speedometer, odometer, tachometer, oil pressure gauge, water temperature gauge, fuel gauge, charging gauge, etc. In modern automobile, the automobile instrument also needs a voltage regulator, which is specially used to stabilize the voltage of the instrument power supply and suppress the fluctuation range, so as to ensure the accuracy of the automobile instrument. In addition, the basis of most instrument displays comes from sensors. The sensing device changes its resistance value according to the state change of the monitored object, which is expressed by the instrument.

The charging meter shows the charge and discharge state between the generator and the battery, which can be divided into ammeter and voltmeter. Most of the previous cars used an ammeter. It has a permanent magnet to keep the pointer fixed on the fulcrum in the middle position, and a coil surrounds the fulcrum. When a current passes through the coil, it will induce a magnetic field. The pointer swings left and right under the action of the magnetic field, and the swing direction depends on the direction of the current flowing through the coil. Therefore, the ammeter is connected in series between the battery and the generator. When the generator charges the battery, the instrument displays the positive (+) pole. If the discharge capacity of the battery to the load is greater than the charging capacity of the generator, it displays the negative (-) pole. Because the terminal of ammeter bears large current and is not safe, most cars now use charging indicator light or voltmeter. The grounding terminal of the charging indicator is controlled by the regulator. When the engine is not running, the grounding line of the charging indicator is connected and the charging indicator lights up; When the engine is running, the grounding line of the charging lamp is disconnected and the charging lamp goes out; If the charging lamp is still on, it indicates that there is a charging system fault.
