1. There is a problem with the oil gauge itself. In case of immobility or misalignment of the fuel gauge caused by the failure of the fuel gauge itself, it can be judged that the pointer of the fuel gauge still does not swing for about half a minute after the ignition switch is turned on, or the pointer swings randomly and the measurement of the pointer of the fuel gauge is inaccurate, indicating that the fuel gauge is faulty; Replace the fuel gauge;

2. Sensor fault. When the sensor fails, the fuel gauge will not move. The judgment method is to clamp the multimeter probe on the two terminal posts of the variable resistor of the fuel sensor and use R × 1 Ω gear detects the resistance value of the variable resistor. If the result does not conform to the standard, the sensor is faulty; Replace the sensor with a new one;

3.Instrument coil short circuit. Short circuit of instrument coil may also cause problems of oil gauge. A simple judgment method is to measure the voltage with a multimeter. The relevant harness needs to be replaced.

Expert analysis: the key to this situation is that the connecting rod between the oil level sensor and the float is stuck, so that the float cannot float up and down normally, and the sensor will not change. Therefore, the pointer of the oil gauge is fixed at a certain position. If this happens, the key parts can be replaced separately according to the situation. If the technician of the repair shop detects that the oil level sensor works normally, it is likely that the original oil gauge has quality problems and needs to be replaced.
