Check with the fault tester IDS, and the fault code b2628 is read, which means "fuel sender No. 2 circuit is short circuited to ground" and cannot be cleared. Disconnect the fuel pump lead connector c732 according to figure 3, and measure the voltage between terminal 2 and terminal 4, which is 12 V, normal; Then measure the connection of the two wires between the fuel position sensor and the combination instrument, and there is no open circuit or short circuit. When the fuel pump is removed and the oil float is moved to the lowest position, the measured resistance of the fuel position sensor is about 200 Ω; When the oil float is moved to the highest position, the measured resistance of the fuel position sensor is about 10 Ω. Compared with the fuel position sensor of normal vehicles, the resistance is normal, and the resistance changes continuously during the process of moving the oil float. So far, the diagnosis indicates that the fuel position sensor and its circuit are normal, and it is suspected that the internal program of the combination instrument is wrong or the hardware is damaged. After reprogramming the instrument cluster of the vehicle with the data of the instrument cluster of the same model, the fault remains. After the combination instrument was installed on the same test drive, the vehicle returned to normal, but the fault was transferred to the test drive, so it was determined that the combination instrument was damaged.
