fuel level gauge sensor not working

The power source of the automobile fuel tank is the gasoline pump, and the control program is the gasoline pump control unit. The fuel metering relies on the fuel level detection system composed of the fuel level sensor and the fuel gauge. The oil level sensor, usually called the oil float, is a sensing device for fuel level. It detects the position (height) of the oil in the container by changing the capacitance between the sensor housing and the sensing electrode after the oil enters the container and turning this change into a current change. There are generally three types of oil level sensors commonly used in automobiles. The traditional resistance oil level sensor, the upgraded magnetic levitation oil level sensor and the widely used capacitive oil level sensor have the same function, but the capacitive oil level sensor is more accurate and stable. The oil level sensor is connected to the gasoline pump, the gasoline pump control unit and the fuel gauge by lines. Any fault may be displayed on the instrument panel, which generally indicates that the engine fault light is on and the fuel gauge is out of order. The specific manifestations are as follows:

1. The scale of the oil gauge suddenly drops and returns to zero, and the oil quantity is not displayed

2. The scale of the oil gauge is unstable, fast and slow

3. The scale of the oil gauge remains unchanged

4. As the distance increases, the scale of the fuel gauge increases instead of decreasing

If it is detected, the following faults may occur:

1. Fuel inventory sensor 1 or 2 flake resistance too high
2. Fuel inventory sensor 1 or 2 flake resistance too low
3. Fuel inventory sensor signal too small signal too large signal
4. Fuel inventory sensor 1 or 2 resistance too low
5. Fuel inventory sensor 1 or 2 resistance too high or too high
6. Fuel inventory sensor 1 or 2 is currently being tested
7. Fuel inventory sensor 2 short circuit to positive, short circuit to ground
8. Low fuel level

When the above faults are found, pay attention to checking the oil level sensor, the gasoline pump and the gasoline pump control unit as well as the connecting lines between them. Check where the faults occur and replace them in time.

Conclusion: In fact, sometimes when the scale of the oil gauge remains unchanged, you should also pay attention to whether the oil level sensor is stuck somewhere. Refuel with high-quality oil as much as possible, because the clean oil quality will reduce the number of magazines in the oil pump, greatly reducing the probability of failure.
