harley davidson speedometer sensor location

The harley davidson speedometer sensor location sensor is located at the four wheels.

How to check:

First, turn on the ignition switch and emergency shutdown switch, and observe the LCD screen on the odometer whether "BUS Er" is displayed. If it is displayed, conduct the next inspection; If not the following inspection steps are skipped and the fifth inspection step is directly entered.

Second, turn off the ignition switch, and then turn on the ignition switch after unplugging the ECM connector, observe whether the LCD screen of the mileage speedometer continues to display the word "BUSER". If not, The above words indicate that the ECM needs to be replaced; If the above words are still displayed, proceed next inspection.

Third, turn off the ignition switch and connect the ECM connector. Then disconnect TSM TSSM or HFSM connector, then turn on the ignition switch, and check whether the mileage speedometer is returned the word "BUS Er" is displayed. TSM, TSSM or HFSM if no longer displayed. If there is a problem, it needs to be replaced; If the word "BUSER" is still displayed, carry out the next inspection.

Fourth, turn off the ignition switch, connect the connectors of TSM, TSSM or HFSM, pull out the connector of the mileage speedometer, then turn on the ignition switch, and observe the mileage speed again whether the table still displays "BUS Er". If it is no longer displayed, it indicates the mileage speedometer the module has problems and needs to be replaced; If the word BUS Er is still displayed, go to the next step (The same method is used for vehicles with engine tachometer).

Fifth, turn off the ignition switch, use the resistance gear of the multimeter, and connect the mileage with one probe check the light green/blue purple wire on terminal 3 of the speedometer connector. One probe is grounded the resistance between them. If the resistance value between them is 0, this line and the ground wire It is connected. To check and repair this line carefully, disconnect all the connectors of the ECM, TSSM or HFSM, and the odometer module (models with tachometer are connected with tachometer) under the premise of turning off the ignition switch. Place the multimeter in the resistance gear, connect one probe to the light green blue purple wire on the DLC connector, and connect the other probe to the ground. Check the connectivity between this wire and the grounding wire. The resistance value is required to be infinite. If there is a certain resistance value between this line and the ground wire, it indicates that there is a short circuit between this line and the ground wire. The possible causes of U1301 fault code that need to be checked and repaired include ECM failure, TSM, TSSM or HFSM failure, odometer or tachometer module failure, and short circuit of the serial data line or power line
