harley speedometer and odometer not working

The odometer and speedometer of the motorcycle do not work. It may be that the dial thread has fallen off. You can check the dial wire. The wire is usually near the front brake disc and runs there from the odometer. If you can't find it, go to the maintenance station. The vehicle speedometer is divided into two types: roller counter and dot distance LCD screen. It is composed of a speedometer that indicates the driving speed of the vehicle and a odometer that records the distance traveled by the vehicle. The two are installed in a common housing and driven by the same shaft. Ordinary speedometer is generally magnetic induction type. The roller counter is a pure mechanical instrument commonly used in the past, which is connected to the gearbox output shaft at one end and the odometer at the other end through a flexible shaft; The more commonly used electronic instrument is usually equipped with a speed sensor on the transmission output shaft or wheel, and the read speed is converted into vehicle speed and history through the calculation formula embedded in the control module. Either way, in the final analysis, the data comes from the speed at the output end of the transmission system (transmission output shaft or wheel). If you know the speed of the wheel, such as how many revolutions per minute, and then calculate the circumference of the wheel (that is, the distance traveled by the wheel in one revolution), the speed will come out, and the mileage is the same

The solutions to the failure of motorcycle odometer are as follows:

1. Remove the gauge line on the front wheel to check whether the line is broken.

2. Turn the front wheel to see if the counting gear shaft rotates. If the line is broken, change the line directly.

3. If the gear shaft does not rotate, remove the front wheel for maintenance or replace the speedometer gear.

Common failures of the drive system of the scooter mainly include the following:

1. Front Puli bead is worn. Fault principle: after the front Puli bead is worn, the centrifugal force generated by the Puli bead decreases with the change of engine speed, sometimes it even gets stuck in the Puli bead groove and does not return, and finally it cannot be separated clearly at idle speed.Fault phenomenon: The motorcycle will also move forward when idling.

2. The front disc bushing is worn. After the front Pulverizer disc quilt is worn, the whole Pulverizer disc will run eccentrically. The direct consequence is that the engine noise is seriously abnormal, just like the sound of engine crankshaft failure.

3. The rear bumper is worn. After the rear Puli throw off block and Puli disc are worn, there will be slow acceleration, increased fuel consumption, etc. After the rear Puli throw off block spring is broken, there will be unclear separation, and the vehicle will move forward at idle speed. If the big spring of the rear bumper softens or loosens, the vehicle will shake when starting.

4. The drive belt is broken. Because the front and rear discs are not maintained normally, the motorcycle is forced to work even when there is serious wear, which will eventually lead to belt breakage.
