how can i tell the level of fuel in a tank without a gauge

For trucks, commercial vehicles, engineering machinery and other models, their fuel tanks are generally external, which is a square metal box. In this case, if the oil gauge is broken, it is easy to open the fuel tank cap directly and shine a flashlight inside to see the oil level. You can also insert branches, sticks, etc. into the oil tank, and then take them out to see the wetted position. Naturally, you can know how much oil is left in the oil tank. Of course, some old drivers have a "unique skill": as long as they tap the fuel tank with their fingers and carefully listen to the feedback from the fuel tank, they will know where the oil level is. For our ordinary family car, its fuel tank is built-in, and we can't see it outside, so the above method is not applicable. In this case, how do we judge the amount of remaining oil in the tank?

If we find that the fuel gauge does not display, first of all, we should find the nearest gas station nearby and fill up the fuel tank no matter how much fuel is left in the fuel tank. Then remember the amount of oil added. For example, if 30 liters of oil is added and the marked volume of the oil tank is 55 liters, the remaining oil in the original oil tank is 25 liters. During the subsequent journey, keep in mind the mileage of the car, and judge the remaining fuel in the fuel tank according to the fuel consumption and mileage of the car. Generally speaking, a full tank of oil can drive a car for more than 500 kilometers, and some fuel-efficient cars can even reach more than 700 kilometers. My own car has run nearly 900 kilometers with a tank of oil at most once.

If there is no refueling condition for the time being, and you are worried that the fuel in the fuel tank is insufficient, you will not be able to reach your destination. Another simple, direct and rough way is to disassemble the steam oil pump for observation. Now most models' gasoline pumps are installed under the rear seats. As long as the rear seats are removed, a circular flange can be seen. What is installed at this position is the gasoline pump. I can just remove the screws with a screwdriver, pick up the gasoline pump, and then I can directly see the oil level. Attention must be paid to safety during operation. Fireworks are strictly prohibited. During installation, it must be firmly installed and the sealing gasket must be installed in place. Otherwise, oil leakage will occur, which will be troublesome and very dangerous.
