nissan frontier speedometer not working

After picking up the car: first analyze the working principle of the speedometer of this Teana car. The ABS wheel speed sensor of the car transmits a wheel speed signal to the ABS control unit, and provides a vehicle speed signal to the integrated instrument and A/C amplifier through the CAN communication line. After the integrated instrument and knife C amplifier receive the vehicle speed signal, they convert this signal into an 8-pulse signal, and provide this 8-pulse signal to the vehicle speed odometer in the instrument.

Test drive, found that the fault phenomenon does exist. Then perform meter self-diagnosis according to the following steps.

(1) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and switch the speedometer switch to "trip A" or "trip B".

(2) Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

(3) While pressing the speedometer switch, turn the ignition switch to the ON position again.

(4) Confirm that "0000.0" is displayed on the speedometer.

(5) Within 7 seconds after the ignition switch is turned on, press the speedometer switch at least 3 times.

(6) All fields of the speedometer and the A/T indicator will be illuminated, and the low fuel warning light indicator will also be illuminated at the same time, and the integrated instrument control unit is turned into a diagnosis mode.

(7) Press the switch of the speedometer, all the instruments will display at this time, the pointer of the engine tachometer is at about 2500R/min, the pointer of the speedometer is at about 55km/h, and the pointer of the fuel gauge is at nearly 1/2 position and the low fuel warning light goes off, the low coolant warning light and the high coolant temperature warning light illuminate.

After self-diagnosing the integrated instrument, it is confirmed that the speedometer of the car is good and there is no fault.

Connect the fault detector to the ABS and the integrated instrument system, and there is no fault code storage; connect the fault detector to conduct a road test on the car, and find that the signal values of each wheel speed sensor are normal from the data stream. Check the ABS wheel speed sensor, ABS control unit and other related lines and connectors, and they are all normal.

Remove the CD player, take out the integrated instrument and A/C amplifier, start the engine, and drive the vehicle at a speed of about 40KM/H mountain, check the connection between the integrated instrument and A/C amplifier wire side connector M42 terminal 26 with a multimeter The voltage between the irons is 0V, which is abnormal. Check the integrated meter and A/C amplifier harness connector and harness, normal.

Check the continuity of the CAN communication line between the ABS control unit and the integrated meter and A/C amplifier. Unplug the wire side connector of the ABS control unit, and measure the continuity between the wire side connector terminal 1 and terminal 1 of the integrated instrument and A/C amplifier and the wire side connector terminal 1 and terminal 2 of the ABS control unit wire, Also normal.

According to the working principle of the speedometer, since the integrated meter and A/C amplifier have no pulse signal output, but the vehicle speed signal is normal, the ABS control unit, the CAN communication line between the ABS control unit and the integrated meter and A/C amplifier All are normal, indicating that the vehicle speed signal to the integrated instrument and /AC amplifier is normal, but the amplifier does not output an 8-pulse vehicle speed signal, so it can be judged that the integrated instrument and A/C amplifier are damaged.

Replace the integrated meter and A/C amplifier, and the fault is eliminated.
