replaced fuel level sensor but still has light on and no gas gauge

1. The viscosity of the fuel is too large

The viscosity of the fuel is closely related to the quality of the fuel. The higher the viscosity, the stronger the high temperature resistance of the fuel, and vice versa. But it does not mean that the higher the viscosity, the better, we should use the fuel grade that matches our engine.

2. The pressure limiting valve is blocked or improperly adjusted

In order to prevent the fuel pressure of the lubricating system from being too high and increasing the power consumption of the engine and causing fuel leakage at the sealing connection in the fuel circuit, a pressure limiting valve is provided on the main fuel passage or the fuel pump. Its function is to limit the fuel pressure of the lubrication system so that it does not exceed the specified value. The failure of the pressure limiting valve will lead to abnormal fuel pressure, which will cause the fuel light to come on.

3. Insufficient amount of fuel

If the amount of fuel is insufficient, the fuel volume of the fuel pump will be reduced or the fuel will not be pumped due to the entry of air, which will reduce the fuel pressure, and the crankshaft and bearings, cylinder liners and pistons will aggravate wear due to poor lubrication.

4. The engine temperature is too high

If there is too much scale in the engine cooling system, poor heat dissipation, long-term overload operation, or the fuel supply time of the fuel injection pump is too late, the engine will overheat, accelerate the aging, deterioration, and thinning of the fuel, leak from each fitting gap, and reduce the pressure. , the fuel fault light is on.

5. fuel bypass valve failure

The fuel bypass valve is to maintain the normal fuel pressure of the main fuel passage. If the pressure regulating spring is softened or improperly adjusted, the mating surface of the valve seat and the steel ball is worn or jammed and is not tightly closed, the fuel pressure will be reduced.

6. The fuel filter is blocked

When the fuel filter is blocked and cannot flow, the bypass valve on the base is opened, and the fuel directly enters the main fuel passage without being filtered. If the opening pressure of the bypass valve is set too high or too low, the pressure of the fuel pump will rise or fall, which will also cause the warning light to come on.
