OD2 series AC rudder angle indicator has advanced performance , reliable quality and various types. At present, it has been widely used in all kinds of ships . However , it still has some defects and faults , mainly in the following aspects :
1. The non machined surface of rudder angle indicator casting is rough, and some have sand holes. It is mainly caused by casting temperature , aluminum alloy composition and pores caused by molding sand not drying out .
2. The processing accuracy of rudder angle indicator dial is not high , and the debugging is not accurate enough resulting in individual indication errors exceeding the standard , and the error of self-adjusting angle motor is high .
3. The rigidity of rudder angle indicator is not good .
4. The deflection torque of the vdo rudder angle indicator pointer/needle is significantly reduced, which is mainly due to poor contact or increased contact resistance , broken wire of the self-adjusting motor or bad contact between the brush and the slip ring, it needs to adjust .
5. Careless cleaning of rudder angle indicator assembly will lead to low insulation resistance .
6. The steering angle indicator self-tuning motor has high electromagnetic noise . If the noise exceeds the standard , the self-tuning machine needs to be replaced .
7. The rudder angle indicator has large systematic error and difficult adjustment .
The rudder angle indicator is advanced in performance , cost-effective , reliable in quality and various in form .
Based on the indicating angle of the mechanical rudder angle indicator of the steering gear , calibrate the electric rudder angle indicator with an error of no more than ± 1 °, but when the rudder is at the 0 ° position , each rudder angle indicator shall have no error . The electrical limit of rudder angle shall stop rotating when it is 35 ° ± 1 ° left or 35 ° ± 1 ° right. The mechanical limit angle shall generally be 1 ° ~ 1.5 ° greater than the electrical limit, and the maximum rudder angle shall not exceed 37 °. The vdo rudder angle indicator needle is an important factor , so when the vdo rudder angle indicator has problem , it is better to check the needle or pointer .
