water temp gauge not reading

If water temp gauge not reading , maybe the power line of the water temperature gauge is open circuit. Check the water temperature gauge.

The electric heating coil of the water temperature gauge is burnt out , or the electric heating coil of the water temperature gauge sensor is burnt out or the contact is poor . Check the circuit , check whether the plug is in poor contact and whether the plug is in poor contact.

The wiring of the water temperature gauge sensor is poor or open circuit . Check the water temperature sensor . Check whether the water temperature is damaged , whether the plug is in poor contact and whether the plug is in poor contact .

The water temperature gauge doesn't move , and the car can continue to run in a short time. The reason why the water temperature gauge doesn't work may be that the water temperature gauge or the temperature probe is broken. As long as the water tank is not short of water , the normal driving of the car will not be affected . It is recommended not to operate at full load before troubleshooting . Whether the fuel consumption is irrelevant to the operation of the thermometer , but related to the operation of the vehicle .

Can check whether the water temperature sensor is good or bad.

1 Use the digital resistance simulator to simulate the water temperature and compare it with the actual situation.

2. Use the infrared thermometer to test the actual temperature of the water temperature sensor and compare it with the water temperature gauge.

3. Use a multimeter to test the resistance value of the water temperature sensor, and use an electric hair dryer to heat the water temperature sensor, and the resistance value decreases.

4. Use a multimeter to test the resistance value of the water temperature sensor and use an infrared thermometer to test the water temperature. The vehicle water temperature sensor with the temperature and resistance value in the maintenance manual is a thermistor, thousands of ohms to tens of thousands of ohms. The cause of the fault is short circuit, open circuit and poor contact. It is basically clear that the most likely fault is poor contact, followed by open circuit, and the possibility of short circuit is very small.
