autometer oil temp gauge install

To install the automobile oil level sensor, first open the oil filler of the oil tank, observe or test the approximate position of the oil tank sensor and the internal diaphragm with a wooden stick and branches. After determining the position, drill a hole on the oil tank with a drill bit, then put the sensor into the oil tank from the oil filler, clamp the wire harness end of the sensor with iron wire, apply oil proof glue around the hole to prevent oil leakage, screw on the large nut, then connect the wire, apply sealant and tighten the cover.

Automobile oil level sensor is also called oil level sensor or water level sensor. Its working principle is to use the magnetic field generated by the ferrite magnet to control the on-off of the reed switch contact, convert the change of the measured liquid level into electrical signal output and connect it with the secondary instrument, so as to detect the liquid level height.

There are two kinds of oil level sensors: one is to take the sliding potentiometer as the basic detection element, drive the potentiometer through the float, and then detect its resistance with an ohmmeter, so as to achieve the purpose of displaying the oil level. However, when the oil stain covers the potentiometer, its resistance will change, resulting in excessive error and even inability to use, making this kind of oil tank sensor a vulnerable part with short service life. The other is to use the inductive coil as the basic detection element. It uses the float to drive the inductance coil to change the oscillation frequency of the oscillation circuit, and then uses the frequency meter to detect its frequency to measure the oil level.

Most automobile oil level sensors are basically installed in the automobile oil tank. If the oil level sensor fails, the oil will be insufficient or may not be clear. Sensors include air flow sensor, air temperature sensor, idle speed sensor, throttle position sensor, engine oil temperature sensor, engine oil pressure sensor, knock sensor, camshaft position sensor, crankshaft position sensor, water temperature sensor, oxygen sensor, etc.
