glowshift oil pressure gauge install

The oil pressure gauge, commonly known as the oil gauge, indicates the level of oil pressure inside the engine. As for the amount of oil in the oil pan, you need to measure the oil dipstick next to the engine. Most cars today use warning lights instead of oil pressure gauges.

Installation of oil pressure gauge:

When loading the oil pressure gauge, pay attention to the insulation of the terminal, and do not knock or bump it when disassembling. In order to make the working arm and compensation arm of the bimetallic sheet of the sensor reasonably heated, its installation is directional. When installing, the arrow symbol on the sensor shell should be upward, and the error should not exceed about 30°. The oil pressure gauge and the sensing plug are not allowed to be violently impacted. The vibration will cause the relative position of each part to change, which will affect the pressure value between the contacts and make the indication of the gauge inaccurate. Under normal circumstances, when the ignition switch is not powered on, the pointer of the watch should be on the outside of the "0" position. When the ignition switch is turned on but the engine is not started, the pointer should point to the "0" position; after the engine is started, the pointer will follow the main The change of oil pressure in the oil passage points to the corresponding pressure scale value.

When installing the sensor, pay attention not to install the arrow symbol on its shell incorrectly. When the oil pressure gauge indicates inaccurate value, check whether the arrow symbol on the sensor shell is wrongly installed or its contacts are ablated, and repair it in time.

Install a pressure gauge and measure pressure:

Install the oil pressure gauge, start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature (80°C) and measure the engine oil pressure. Compare the reading to the specification. Taking the new LaCrosse LDK engine. If the engine oil pressure is lower than specified, check the engine for one or more of the following conditions:

Oil filter with check function and O-ring on cylinder block side of filter OK
Oil pump worn or dirty
The bolts from the oil pump to the front cover of the engine are loose.
Loose, clogged or damaged oil pump filter
Oil pump screen O-ring missing or damaged
Oil pump regulator valve failure
The bearing clearance is too large.
Cracked, porous or blocked oil passages
Missing or improperly installed oil gallery plug
Install the oil pressure sensor or oil passage plug.
Start the engine and check the oil pressure switch for oil leaks.
Turn off the engine and check that the accessories are in place
