how to bypass circuit board in gauge panel to get fuel level

In automobiles, the device consists of two parts: sensor system and fuel indicator. The sensor unit usually operates on a float floating on the potentiometer. When the fuel tank of the car is dry, the float will drop and rotate the connection on the resistor to maximize its resistance. In addition, once the resistance reaches a certain level, it will also turn on a low gas lamp on some cars.

At the same time, the fuel indicator system (usually installed on the instrument panel) calculates and displays the amount of current flowing through the transmission system. Once the fuel quantity increases, the optimal current passes through, and the meter reading (f) shows a 100% full car fuel tank.If your tank is dry and the minimum current is moving, the meter reading (e) shows a dry tank.

Step 1 – Turn off the gas and power lines

Lift the rear hatch or open the trunk. If there is a spare tire, please take it out. Separate the gas and power cables from the tank.

Step 2 - Separate the tank

Use a pair of small screwdrivers to loosen the cable and remove the fuel tank bracket. Take out three bolts and support them under the vehicle. Then, gradually move the vehicle's fuel tank (a small amount of gasoline makes the fuel tank lighter). You can ask a friend to take it for you. Everyone is at both ends.

Step 3 – Remove the transmitter

Remove the clip on the electrical accessory on the top of the launcher (the air pipe should not be removed at this time, because the fuel will flow out of the fuel tank). Next, use a screwdriver and hammer to rotate the transmitter on the top of the locking device to lock the locking tab and channel. Spray the locking ring with lubricating oil and minimize friction when rotating. After the locking ring is closed, take the launcher out of the tank.

Step 4: Remove the fuel level sensor

Position the fuel level sensor, which is usually located at the bottom of the transmitter. Remove the clip and slide sensor from the harness.

Step 5 - Install a new sensor

When you purchase a new fuel level sensor, be sure to check the vehicle's owner's manual to ensure that the purchase is correct. Install a new gas level sensor and slide it to the old position. Repeat these steps from the last to the first to replace the unit in the vehicle tank, and then you are finished.
