how to hook up a tachometer to a diesel engine

According to the working principle of the engine tachometer, the engine tachometer is equipped with three connecting wires, one connecting wire is connected with the DC power lock outlet of the ignition switch, one connecting wire is connected with the grounding wire in the cable harness, and the other connecting wire is connected with the ignition wire end of the electronic igniter, that is, connected in parallel with the ignition wire end of the ignition coil, The ignition system of the engine and the engine tachometer are put into operation at the same time. When there is no high-pressure fire fault in the ignition system of the engine, the approximate fault range of the ignition system can be analyzed and judged by observing whether the engine tachometer can be put into operation.

Euro 2 machine: there is a mounting hole on the flywheel housing. After opening the cover, you can see the flywheel teeth inside, then install the corresponding speed sensor (three wires), and then connect the instrument speed interface of the main harness (see whether your instrument can be connected).

Euro 3 machine: there is a ring gear on the engine pulley. Install the sensor and connect the main harness. The instrument may also need to be replaced.

The speed sensor is generally hall type and photoelectric type ~ ~ note that you have to find a suitable place to install holes ~ ~ don't affect the dynamic balance of the engine.

Tools: prepare an iron wire of more than 30cm, preferably bend a buckle with pliers, and prepare an internal six flower screwdriver.

Steps of how to hook up a tachometer to a diesel engine:

Pull the trim panel 1 from the front by hand. There are two expansion screws under the instrument panel. Lift the middle cylinder by hand to remove the screws. The two are the same.

2. Remove the trim panel and keep it for future use. Remove the tachometer and cover it again. It is beautiful. Pull the instrument panel in a straight line towards your body and shake it slightly left and right to remove it. The tachometer and clock plug shall be wrapped with white tape.

3. Use iron wire to lead the tachometer plug to the instrument panel and plug it in. The tachometer rotates and stabilizes between 800-900 revolutions, indicating that the instrument is in good condition. Install the instrument panel back to its original position and replace the two screws just removed.

4. Screw the screw into the reserved position between the tachometer and the clock with a screwdriver, and fasten the cover plate.

5. Adjust the time. There are two buttons behind the clock, one forward and one backward.
