how to install electric oil pressure gauge
1. The oil pressure gauge is commonly referred to as the oil gauge, which indicates the lubricating oil pressure of the main oil passage of the lubrication system when the engine is running. As for the amount of oil in the oil pan, it needs to be measured by the oil dipstick next to the engine. Nowadays, most cars use warning lights instead of oil pressure gauges;
2. When the engine is working, the oil pressure gauge indicates the oil pressure in the main oil passage of the engine lubrication system. It is composed of oil pressure indicator and oil pressure sensor;
3. The oil pressure indicator is installed on the instrument panel, and the oil pressure sensor is installed on the engine main oil duct or the oil primary filter, which are connected through wires;
4. Common oil pressure gauges include bimetallic oil pressure gauge and bimetallic oil pressure sensor, electromagnetic oil pressure gauge and resistance oil pressure sensor. Bimetallic oil pressure gauge is widely used.
Installation of oil pressure gauge:
When loading the oil pressure gauge, pay attention to the insulation of the terminal, and do not knock or bump during disassembly. In order to make the working arm and compensation arm of the bimetallic sheet of the sensor heated reasonably, its installation is directional. During installation, the arrow symbol on the sensor shell shall be upward, and the error shall not exceed about 30 °. The oil pressure gauge and the sensing plug are not allowed to be impacted violently. The vibration will cause relative changes in the positions of various parts, affect the pressure value between contacts, and make the indication of the gauge inaccurate. Under normal conditions, when the ignition switch is not powered on, the pointer of the meter should be outside the "0" position. When the ignition switch is turned on but the engine is not started, the pointer should point to the "0" position; After the engine is started, the gauge needle will point to the corresponding pressure scale value as the oil pressure of the main oil passage changes.
When installing the sensor, pay attention not to install the arrow symbol on its housing incorrectly. When the indicated value of the oil pressure gauge is inaccurate, check whether the arrow symbol on the sensor housing is installed incorrectly or its contact is ablated, and repair it in time.
