Most frequency converters have wiring terminals for external digital display meters, include the mercruiser tachometer , which can be set to output current signals or voltage signals , as well as output functions such as line speed , frequency , power , voltage , and other information . The crankshaft speed position sensor is available in both magnetoelectric and Hall type. There are both 2-wire and 3-wire versions of the magnetoelectric type, and both 2-wire wires are signal wires connected to the ECU; Two of the three wire system are signal wires, and the other one is signal shielding wire . The Hall type is a 3-wire system, with two forming a power supply circuit and another signal wire. The camshaft phase sensor and crankshaft speed position sensor are the same, including magnetoelectric and Hall type sensors . Knock sensors are available in single wire , 2-wire, and 3-wire versions . A single wire system involves connecting a signal wire to the ECU and grounding the ground wire . One of the two wire systems is a signal wire connected to the ECU, and the other is a ground wire that is also connected to the ECU . One of the 3-wire system is a signal wire connected to EC , one is a ground wire connected to ECU , and the other is a signal shielding wire.

The digital mercruiser tachometer uses light-emitting diode (LED) and Nixie tube as display devices, and built-in high-performance single-chip microcomputer as signal processing and control unit. It is small in size , powerful in function , accurate in measurement , and exquisite in display effect.
