my new fuel level sensor in gas tank makes my fuel gauge flicker

It is generally caused by the fault of the oil float contact. It is recommended to replace the oil float.

First check whether the sliding rheostat of the float normally changes with different positions, and manually dial the float to the highest position to see if the meter indicates that the tank is full. At this point, it can basically be judged whether it is a fault of the instrument or the fault of the float.

The main reason is that the oil gauge sensor is not calibrated properly, that is, when there is a float in the fuel tank, it will rise as the oil level rises, which will drive the sensor to control the resistance of the electromagnetic coil in the oil gauge, so that the pointer swings to a corresponding position to display the amount of oil.

If the display is inaccurate, it may be that the angle of the float is wrong. Just remove it and adjust it a little. When adjusting, just lower the metal rod of the float, and the oil gauge will move in the direction of full F, otherwise, it will move in the direction of less than E. It can be displayed until the corresponding position is displayed when it is put in.

If you are worried, go to the repair shop to find a professional to adjust it. Of course, if it is a high-end car, the principle may be different, so you can't adjust it like this. Most of the digital display fuel gauges are equipped with LED displays for easy viewing. The fuel gauge has six functions, and each of these six functions is indispensable, otherwise it will be difficult for the owner to control the car. The owner can decide whether to refuel according to the fuel gauge showing the remaining fuel in the fuel tank.

If you need to refuel, the fuel gauge can also accurately display the amount of fuel added each time. The fuel gauge does not only play the role of a scale, it can also display the fuel consumption value per kilometer of the car and the fuel consumption of the car more accurately, and whether it saves fuel. The fuel gauge will also remind the owner of the car's remaining fuel for cruising range. If the car owner does not refuel in time, once the fuel storage level falls below a certain value, the fuel gauge of the car will have a fuel level alarm function. In addition, the car fuel gauge can even display the car's odometer, which can store real-time measurement data for three months for data management.
