oil pressure gauge moving back and forth
It is a normal phenomenon for the oil pressure gauge to move back and forth. This is because during the operation of the engine, the oil pressure will change due to various factors, such as changes in engine speed, changes in oil temperature, and the working status of the oil pump. Therefore, the oil pressure gauge will fluctuate back and forth with changes in these factors. However, if the fluctuation amplitude of the oil pressure gauge is too large, or the pressure value is not within the normal range, it may indicate that the engine has a problem and requires maintenance or repair. Therefore, if abnormal fluctuations in the oil pressure gauge are found, it is recommended to conduct timely inspection and maintenance to ensure the normal operation and service life of the engine.
If the oil pressure gauge moves back and forth significantly:
1. The storage capacity of engine oil is too low, causing the lubrication system to have no or little oil, resulting in low oil pressure. Solution: Refuel.
2. Dirty or viscous oil causes the oil pump to be unable to effectively suck in or pump out the oil, resulting in low or no oil pressure. Solution: Change the oil.
3. Oil thinning or oil thinning caused by high engine temperature can leak from the gaps of various friction pairs in the engine, resulting in low oil pressure. Solution: Change the oil or repair the cooling system.
Oil pressure gauge:
(1) The oil pump is faulty gear
(2) Regulating valve or return valve spring failure
(3) Oil pan oil shortage. Limit. Oil pipe. Oil pump
(4) Improper assembly or sticking of pressure limiting valve
Unstable oil flow resistance or damage to the oil pressure gauge can also cause unstable oil pressure. The engine is working normally and the reason for abnormal oil pressure:
a. Extract the oil dipstick and check if the engine oil is sufficient and if there is gasoline or water in the oil. If necessary, add or replace the engine oil
b. Carefully inspect all parts of the engine for oil leakage while it is in operation
c. Check whether the oil pressure sensing plug and oil pressure gauge are normal. Ground the wiring of the oil sensing plug. If the pointer of the oil pressure gauge swings from 0 to the bottom, it indicates that both are working properly. If the pointer does not move, it indicates that the sensing plug is damaged and should be replaced
d. Check the lubrication system oil pressure. Screw out the sensing plug and start the engine. At this time, oil should spray out from the screw hole, indicating that the lubrication system oil pressure is normal, while the fault lies in the sensing plug
e. If the above inspection is still invalid and the fault is not found, it is necessary to remove the oil pan, clean the oil strainer and oil filter, inspect and adjust the assembly clearance between the crankshaft main bearing shell and the connecting rod bearing shell
