oil pressure sensor error code

There are many kinds of sensors in the car. If each sensor fails, the car will have one problem or another of error code. The oil pressure sensor is usually installed on the side cylinder block of the engine. Once the engine fails, the oil lamp on the instrument panel will not light up when the oil pressure is insufficient. Without the oil alarm, if the vehicle is really short of oil, it is difficult for us to know and not to add oil, which is likely to cause engine damage.

Oil pressure / temperature cannot be monitored properly:

1. Oil pressure sensor signal wire open circuit

2. Oil pressure sensor signal wire short circuit to power supply

3. Oil pressure sensor signal wire is short circuited to high level.

Power supply inspection:

1) Turn the ignition switch to the off position (if the last status of the ignition switch is on, after it is turned to the off position,Please wait a long enough time (at least 2 minutes) before subsequent operations to avoid hot plugging);

2)Pull out the harness connector of oil pressure sensor;

3) Turn the ignition switch to the on position;

4) Measure the voltage from pin 3 of engine oil pressure sensor harness connector to compartment ground: normal value: 49~5.1v possible causes of abnormal measurement:

-Harness damage (further troubleshooting through the relevant guidelines of "harness inspection" below) - connector damage (visually check whether the connector is intact).

Open circuit detection of harness inspection:

1)Turn the ignition switch to the off position (if the last status of the ignition switch is on, after it is turned to the off position,Please wait a long enough time (at least 2 minutes) before subsequent operations to avoid hot plugging);

2)Pull out the ECU engine harness connector a;

3) pull out the engine oil pressure sensor harness connector;

4) Measure the resistance between the engine oil pressure sensor harness connector pin and ECU engine harness connector pin a:

Normal value: ~0 Ω / pin 1 to ECU pin a57

Normal value: ~0 Ω / pin 3 to ECU pin A24 normal value: ~0 Ω / pin 4 to ECU pin a44

2) Plug in ECU engine harness connector a:

4) Turn the ignition switch to on;
