oil temp high coolant temp normal

The cooling water temperature is ideal between 156 ~ 195 ° f [74 ~ 91 ℃]. At this time, the working parts of the engine have been expanded evenly, so as to obtain the best oil film clearance. The maximum temperature of the engine coolant must exceed 200 ° f [93 ° C]. In winter and summer, a thermostat must be installed in the engine to avoid long-term idle operation, and necessary steps must be taken to keep the minimum temperature of cooling water at 165 ° f [74 ℃]. In cold weather conditions, if necessary, cover a part of the radiator with radiator louvers to prevent supercooling.

The normal reading of the oil temperature gauge should be between 180 ° f [82 ° C] and 225 ° f [107 ° C]. Do not panic when the oil temperature reaches 1240 ° f [116 ° C] for a short time under full load. Note: if the sudden increase of oil temperature is not caused by the increase of load, it indicates that there is likely to be mechanical failure, and risk investigation should be carried out immediately.

When the oil quantity is insufficient or the liquid level is too high, it is easy to cause the oil temperature to be too high. Solution: ensure the oil volume of the engine running. The oil level should be between the upper and lower scale lines of the vernier, not too high or too low. Failure of the oil pump or too little pump oil can easily lead to insufficient oil pressure and poor heat dissipation. Solution: pay close attention to the oil pressure gauge to ensure that the oil pump is in normal working condition. If the oil pump fails, it is recommended not to disassemble it by yourself, and it is best to find professional maintenance personnel for repair. The cooling water temperature of diesel engine is too high: the heat cannot be taken away by cooling parts in time, and the temperature of heated parts is too high, which will also lead to the increase of oil temperature. Solution: regularly overhaul the water pump, oil cooler and other important parts in the cooling system to ensure that the engine cooling system can be used normally. The oil cooler is blocked, the oil pressure is insufficient, and the normal heat dissipation cannot be achieved, which is more likely to lead to excessive oil temperature. Solution: check the oil cooler regularly and repair and replace it in time if any problem is found.
