oil temp gauge purpose

The automobile oil gauge can display the oil quantity, oil consumption and storage in the automobile oil tank in real time.If the oil gauge fails, there are the following reasons and judgment methods:

1. The problem of the oil gauge itself.

The immobility or misalignment of the oil gauge caused by the failure of the oil gauge itself.Judgment method: the pointer of the oil gauge still does not swing when the ignition switch is on for about half a minute, or the pointer swings disorderly and the measurement of the pointer of the oil gauge is inaccurate.

2. Sensor failure.

Sensor failure causes the oil gauge to stop moving.Judgment method: the multimeter probe is clamped between the two terminals of the variable resistor of the oil sensor, R × 1 Ω gear detects the resistance value of the variable resistor. If the display is inconsistent with the standard, the sensor fails.

3. Instrument coil short circuit.Oil gauge fault caused by instrument coil short circuit.
Judgment method: use a multimeter to measure the voltage.

The sensor of the thermometer is a thermistor sensor. It is screwed to the engine cooling water channel. The thermistor determines the amount of current flowing through the coil winding of the water temperature gauge. So as to drive the pointer of the meter to swing. In the past, tap water was used as the cooling water for car engines. Nowadays, many automobile engine cooling systems use special coolant. Therefore, it is also called coolant temperature gauge.Due to the installation of three-way catalytic converter on the exhaust pipe of modern cars, the exhaust temperature has increased, but too high exhaust temperature is easy to cause damage to the three-way catalytic converter. Therefore, this kind of cars are equipped with exhaust temperature alarm device.

When the exhaust temperature warning lamp is on, the driver should immediately reduce the speed or stop. After the exhaust temperature drops, the warning lamp will automatically go out (but the fusible exhaust temperature warning lamp will stay on if it is not adjusted or repaired after it is on). If the exhaust temperature warning lamp does not go out, the reason should be found out and the fault should be eliminated before driving.
