The damage of the hydraulic torque converter of the vehicle transmission is mainly caused by long-term high temperature and poor heat dissipation. The mechanical damage is irreversible and the vicious cycle causes chain reaction. Whether the capacity of the automatic transmission cooler designed by the manufacturer is too small and connected with the engine cooling system, resulting in long-term accumulation of scale and affecting the heat dissipation effect. The cooling system of automatic transmission cooler of other models has a large area and is relatively independent. The troubleshooting method of the vehicle is based on the transmission structure and design principle, focusing on theoretical analysis, logical derivation, stripping and cocooning, and clarifying the original cause. We did not disassemble the planetary gear transmission system blindly and avoided major losses. It can be seen that the essence of vehicle maintenance methodology is to correctly grasp the maintenance ideas.

AT automatic transmission uses automatic transmission fluid (ATF) to transmit power (torque converter), and relies on hydraulic pressure to realize the connection or restriction of components established by friction, which will inevitably cause energy loss, which will be converted into heat. In particular, the energy loss when the engine output power is transferred to the transmission by liquid, which is converted from the kinetic energy of liquid to heat energy and realizes mechanical transmission. The ATF will deteriorate with the high temperature of the automatic transmission, reduce the friction coefficient of the friction elements, cause the friction elements to slip, and the sliding of the friction elements will continue to aggravate the increase of the transmission oil temperature, forming a vicious cycle and causing the transmission to be damaged. Therefore, cooling control must be carried out during the ATF cycle to ensure that the transmission must have a normal operating temperature at any time. The ATF cooler is installed in the engine cooling water channel to make the ATF temperature slightly higher than the engine coolant temperature by 5-10 ℃. However, it is repeatedly emphasized that the ATF temperature displayed in the ECU data stream must be basically the same as the transmission temperature detected by the thermometer to ensure the accuracy of fault diagnosis. The basic detection of automatic transmission faults, such as road test, manual shift and stall test, has been achieved, but the oil pressure test when the fault occurs has not been done, because the working oil pressure of the transmission can reflect the slipping and wear of friction components. In addition, the shift time delay test can determine the extent of the gap increase after the wear of friction elements. These basic checks are effective means of transmission fault diagnosis on the vehicle.
