When the water temperature indicator on the automobile instrument panel is on, it usually means that the engine cooling system has a problem or is short of water, which will cause the engine temperature to be too high and cause the engine to burst (the engine is boiling). In case of emergency, the engine can be shut down for a while to cool down, or the engine cooling system can be filled with mineral water for emergency.

When encountering the alarm of too high water temperature, we should first slow down, and then drive the car to the roadside. Don't rush to shut down the engine, because too high water temperature will lead to too high temperature of the piston, steel wall, cylinder, crankshaft, etc., and the oil will become thinner and lose lubrication. If the engine is shut down at this time, the parts are in expansion state, and the clearance between the parts is very small. After shutdown, some soft metals fall off, and some even cause cylinder sticking. Therefore, do not turn off the ignition immediately after the boiler is opened, but keep idling for a while and try to cool down.

Do not pour cold water on the engine when cooling down . This may cause the engine block to burst due to sudden cooling . The correct way is: wear gloves , add a piece of folded wet cloth on the water tank cover , gently unscrew the water tank cover by a small seam , and then add cold water or antifreeze after the water tank pressure drops down after the water vapor is slowly discharged.

The red light of the automobile water temperature gauge flashes and cannot be turned on . The flashing red light of the water temperature gauge means that the engine cooling system has problems or is short of water, which will cause the engine temperature to be too high and cause the engine cylinder to burst (the engine is boiling) . In case of water temperature alarm at low speed, pull over immediately , shut down the engine , and open the engine compartment cover to facilitate heat dissipation, and then call for help.
