dodge journey fuel level sensor

The fuel level sensor of the dodge journey engine oil tank generally uses a sliding resistor , which is connected to our oil float . By changing the liquid level , our sliding resistor changes our output voltage . The oil level sensor of the oil tank has two output modes, electrical signal and physical signal .

When we need to replace the vehicle dodge journey fuel tank and fuel level sensor , its disassembly method :

1) Drain the fuel in the fuel tank with siphon method or manual pump .
2) Lift the vehicle from the rear of the vehicle and support it on the support bench .
3) Remove the negative battery cable .
4) Remove the oil supply pipe and return pipe from the bottom of the vehicle and the exhaust hose from the fuel tank port , and then block the hose port and oil outlet with a clean cloth .
5) Remove the large rubber gasket from the fuel tank outlet .
6) Take out the carpet in the trunk , remove the fuel tank gasket retainer , and then remove the gasket .
7)Disconnect the electrical wire connector of the fuel tank oil level sensor , and pull the wire away from the wire head .
8)Unscrew the fuel tank fixing nut , slowly lift the fuel tank and pull out the drain hose .
9) Lift up the fuel tank with a certain clearance , and then take it out of the trunk backwards .
10) While removing the fuel tank , loosen the fuel filter at the outlet of the fuel supply hose of the fuel tank .
11) Clean the oil filter and check it for damage, and replace it if necessary . If there is rust or leakage in the oil tank , repair it or replace it .

When removing the oil pump pipe, first remove the green fixing buckle, and then there is a buckle on the pipe. Press both sides inward at the same time, and pull out the pipe with force at the same time. Take out the oil pump and replace the new main oil float. Take out the half assembly, replace the auxiliary oil float, and install it back into the main oil pump. Be careful that the line does not hinder the sinking and floating of the black plastic float. Once blocked, it will affect the accuracy of the oil gauge.
