fuel level sensor capacitive

What kind of sensor is the fuel level sender? Displacement sensor is often called oil float and oil level sensor. The most commonly used capacitive displacement sensor has simple structure and low price, but its accuracy is not high. Magnetostrictive displacement sensors are commonly used in precise measurement.

The fuel level sensor is placed on the electric fuel pump to sense the amount of fuel in the fuel tank. This test checks the operation of the fuel level sensor. Turn on the disconnect switch and turn the key switch to on. Observe the fuel level gauge.

If the fuel level on the fuel gauge does not change. The fuel level sensor is correct. Skip to step 2. If the fuel level on the fuel gauge is full, it indicates that the fuel level sensor is faulty. Please replace the fuel level sensor. This test checks the wiring harness for the fuel level sensor.

The fuel level on the fuel gauge is not expected to change. When the oil level on the fuel gauge is full, it indicates that there is an open circuit fault in the harness wire. When the liquid level of the fuel gauge does not change, it indicates that the monitor or controller is faulty. Please replace the monitor or controller.

Generally, the capacitive fuel level sensor in the oil tank is bad, and the oil float sensor is broken, so it is recommended to replace it. You can also check: 1. The anti-theft system is started; 2. Fuel quantity sensor failure.

At present, the structure of most automotive fuel sensors is segmented resistance output mode, and the structure is generally based on sliding resistance contact piece. The fuel sensor is placed inside the fuel tank, and its resistance is adjusted by adjusting the angle of the connecting rod. The end of the connecting rod is connected with a float floating on the gasoline level. When the oil quantity in the oil tank changes, the liquid level will change, the height of the float will change, the connecting rod angle will change, and the contact position will change to generate different resistance values corresponding to the sliding rheostat. As the sliding resistance plate of the sensor is immersed in the fuel, it is prone to aging, corrosion and failure. If there are small impurities in the fuel tank or fuel, resulting in short circuit or connecting rod stuck fault, the fuel display is inaccurate.
