Replace the cable of the speedometer. The flexible shaft may be damaged due to long service time, lack of lubrication or severe folding of the flexible shaft shell. To correct the flexible shaft housing that is bent too much, the clamp holding the housing must move the clamp back and forth in order to clamp the housing straight. If the flexible shaft is excessively bent and has damaged the inner surface of the shell, it should be replaced as a whole, otherwise the rough concave convex place will make the flexible shaft stuck and worn. The excessive wear of the speedometer is another reason for the damage of the speedometer flexible shaft.

How to wire a tachometer as follows: if the prepared flexible shaft needs to be installed on the tachometer, remove the old flexible shaft from the speedometer first. If the inner shaft can be pulled out of the housing, it means that the old flexible shaft has been broken. Remove the flexible shaft housing from the gearbox in order to remove the broken flexible shaft. After the old flexible shaft is removed, evenly apply a thin layer of speedometer flexible shaft grease on the two-thirds section of the lower end of the flexible shaft. Do not smear the whole flexible shaft, otherwise the grease will flow into the meter along the flexible shaft and cause damage.

After the flexible shaft is greased, insert the flexible shaft upward into the upper end of the shell from the lower end of the flexible shaft, so that the whole flexible shaft will be coated with uniform grease. Connect the upper end of the shell to the speedometer. Note that the shaft head of the flexible shaft should be installed on the driver of the speedometer, tighten the sleeve nut, and then twist the lower end of the flexible shaft with your fingers. It should be able to rotate freely, but do not rotate too hard, otherwise the speedometer pointer will be stuck.

Finally, connect the lower end to the gearbox to mesh the flexible shaft on the drive gear. If the whole section of flexible shaft material is used to replace the old flexible shaft, the following method shall be followed: first cut a new flexible shaft with a length slightly shorter than the old flexible shaft, and the length between the two flexible shaft heads shall be two. Then, install a new flexible shaft head with correct shape on the cut-off end. The installation method is as follows: put the new soft shaft head on the bolt tool, clamp it with vice or knock it with a nail hammer. Finally, check whether the new and old flexible shafts are the same length. Speedometer fault detection speedometer operation faults mostly occur on the drive flexible shaft.
