oil pressure gauge drops to zero when idle
What should we do if the oil pressure gauge shows "sudden return to zero"? The oil pressure gauge and the oil pressure warning light are the basic indicators of the engine lubrication system. Once it is found that the oil pressure indicator is zero during driving, the pressure warning light is on, and the vehicle shall be stopped immediately for inspection. Only when the oil pressure of the lubrication system is normal can you continue driving. Treatment: Turn off the fire immediately and check whether the fuse is blown. If not, pull out the engine oil gauge and check the engine oil quantity. If it is insufficient, add it immediately. If the oil quantity is normal, remove the valve cover and start the engine. If the oil splashes, the lubrication system is normal, and the fault is in the oil pressure indicating system. If there is no oil splash, immediately shut down the engine and repair the lubrication system.
Treatment of Sudden Oil Pressure Drop
1. Check whether there is a large amount of oil leakage on the outside. After 5 minutes, take out the oil dipstick to check whether the engine oil pan is short of oil, so as to prevent major accidents such as bearing burning or cylinder pulling due to lack of oil. If there is a lack of oil, first check whether there is a large amount of oil leakage on the outside of the engine. If there is a leak, it means that the oil pipeline and filter cover are cracked, or the drain plug of the oil pan is loose and leaks oil, which should be repaired in a timely manner, Then refuel immediately, and do not start the engine until the oil is added.
2. If the amount of oil is sufficient and there is no trace of oil leakage outside, check whether the connection between the oil pressure gauge and the sensing plug is intact. If the connector of the gauge and the sensing plug is loose, start the engine and observe whether the pressure gauge is normal. If the pressure is normal, continue driving.
3. If the connection between the oil pressure gauge and the sensing plug is intact and the engine cannot be started blindly, loosen the rocker arm support of the engine valve distribution mechanism to expose the oil passage, use the starter to drive the crankshaft to rotate, and check the oil supply condition. If oil sprays out, it indicates that there is no major problem with the oil supply system, and you can continue to drive until you arrive at the maintenance point for detailed investigation.
