The modern temperature sensor has a very small shape, which makes it widely used in various fields of production practice and provides countless convenience and functions for people's life.There are four main types of temperature sensors: thermocouple, thermistor, resistance temperature detector (RTD) and IC temperature sensor. IC temperature sensors include analog output and digital output.

Some models are connected with the water tank; The engine temperature sensor is mainly used to detect the temperature information of the engine cooling water, convert the information into an electrical signal and provide it to the engine electronic control unit (ECU). Then the engine ECU recognizes the water temperature, and the computer corrects the fuel injection according to the water temperature.

Under normal circumstances, the following fault phenomena will occur after the temperature sensor of the automobile engine is damaged:

1. It is difficult to start the cold car;
2. The idle speed is too high;
3. Increased fuel consumption;
4. The cooling fan usually rotates or does not rotate;
5. The water temperature displayed by the instrument is not accurate.

The temperature is converted into electric quantity according to the law that various physical properties of matter change with temperature.

Classification of temperature sensors:

According to the measurement method, it can be divided into contact type and non-contact type. According to the characteristics of sensor materials and electronic components, it can be divided into thermal resistance and thermocouple. The detection part of the contact temperature sensor has good contact with the measured object, also known as a thermometer. The thermometer achieves heat balance through conduction or convection, so that the indicated value of the thermometer can directly represent the temperature of the measured object.
