The function of the marine oil pressure gauge is to detect and display the oil pressure in the main oil duct of the engine, so as to prevent the occurrence of major failures such as cylinder scuffing and bush burning due to lack of oil. The engine oil pressure gauge is used to indicate the engine oil pressure, so as to know whether the engine lubrication system works normally. It consists of an oil pressure sensor installed on the main oil duct of the engine and an oil pressure indicator on the instrument panel. There are three types of commonly used oil pressure gauges: bimetallic electromagnetic type and dynamic magnetic type. Among them, bimetallic oil pressure gauge is the most widely used.
Precautions for the use of oil pressure gauge: the oil pressure gauge must be used together with the voltage regulator and sensor designed together; When installing the oil pressure gauge, ensure that the terminal is well insulated, and do not knock it when disassembling; When installing the spring tube type oil pressure gauge, the sealing of the nozzle must be ensured to prevent oil leakage.
Start the boat , wait for a long enough time (2-3 minutes) to allow the oil to return and measure whether the oil level is too low. Add engine oil of the recommended grade and fill the crankcase until the oil level reaches the "FULL" mark on the oil dipstick. Run the engine and make sure that the boat pressure gauge or indicator does not indicate low pressure or no oil pressure. Remove the oil pressure sensor or another engine block oil gallery plug.
The boat oil pressure gauge is generally called the oil gauge to indicate the lubricating oil pressure in the main oil passage of the lubricating system when the engine is running. As for the amount of oil in the oil pan, it needs to be measured by the oil dipstick beside the engine. Nowadays, most ships use warning lights instead of oil pressure gauges. Some boats equipped with oil pressure gauges are also equipped with oil pressure alarm lights. When the oil pressure is lower than the normal value, the alarm lights will be on to send an alarm signal to the driver. It is composed of oil low pressure alarm lamp installed on the instrument panel and oil pressure alarm sensor installed on the main oil duct of the engine.
