fuel level gauge troubles

Before removing the oil pipe, the pressure should be relieved first to prevent the fuel with higher pressure from spraying out and causing fire. When installing the oil pipe joint, new gasket must be used for the bolt type pipe joint. Tighten the joint bolt by hand first, and then tighten it to the specified torque with tools. For nut type pipe joint, pay attention to apply a thin layer of lubricating oil on the bell mouth first, and then tighten the joint to the specified torque by hand.

The O-ring cannot be reused after the fuel injector is removed. Lubricate the O-ring with gasoline before installing the fuel injector. Do not use engine oil, gear oil or brake fluid. During installation, it should be installed while turning left and right, and it should be aligned, not skewed. Poor installation of the upper part or damage of the O-ring will cause oil leakage; Poor sealing at the lower part will cause air leakage. After the maintenance of the fuel system, carefully check whether there is any oil leakage. Turn on the ignition switch, and the engine will not start. Use a jumper wire to connect the FP and+B terminals of the diagnosis base (Toyota series) to make the fuel pump work forcibly. Clamp the oil return pipe, and the system oil pressure will rise to 400kP. Check whether there is any oil leakage in the fuel system. Only after confirming that there is no oil leakage in the fuel system can it be officially started. After starting, let the engine run at idle speed, and carefully check whether there is oil leakage at any part before closing the engine hood for normal operation.

Fuel tank leakage check:

The fuel tank is made of lead-tin alloy steel plate or high-density molded polyethylene. The leakage of the fuel tank is very dangerous even if it is leaking. When it is suspected that there is leakage in the fuel tank, it must be carefully checked (dry powder fire extinguisher should be prepared before inspection). First release the pressure of the fuel system, then remove the fuel tank, install a short oil pipe on the fuel tank, and plug all other outlets on the fuel tank. Fill the fuel tank with 7~10kPa compressed air through the short oil pipe. Use soapy water or immersion method to check the parts suspected of leakage. If leakage is observed, replace the fuel tank.
