In order to facilitate the next start, high fuel pressure (residual pressure) remains in the fuel pipeline after the engine is stopped. When removing the fuel pipe or replacing the fuel filter, electric fuel pump, fuel injector and other components, the oil pressure in the fuel pipe should be released first to prevent a large amount of pressure fuel from spraying out when loosening the fuel pipe connector, causing personal injury or fire. The method to release the fuel pressure is as follows:
① Pull off the fuel pump relay or fuse, or pull off the fuel pump wire plug. Start the engine for 2-3 times to ensure complete pressure relief (or natural shutdown after engine start). Finally, reconnect the unplugged relay, fuse or wire.
② Place cotton yarn or other oil absorbent materials under the oil pipe joint or wrap the joint nut, then slowly loosen the joint nut to make the gasoline absorbed by cotton yarn or oil absorbent materials, then take away the cotton yarn or oil absorbent materials, and finally re-tighten the pipe joint.
③ After pressure relief, a small amount of fuel will leak out when repairing the fuel pipeline or connector. At this time, cotton yarn can be used to cover the removal site to absorb the leaked fuel.

After removing the fuel pipe for maintenance, in order to avoid starting the engine for the first time because the fuel pressure has not been established in the oil circuit, so that the starting time is too long, the oil pressure in the fuel pipe should be preset according to the following methods.
Connect all fuel pipe connectors, use jumper wire to short circuit the FP terminal and+B terminal of the diagnosis base (Toyota) or unplug the fuel pump relay, short circuit the power terminal and the fuel pump control terminal. Turn on the ignition switch and force the fuel pump to run to build up oil pressure.
