how to check fuel level with broken gauge
If the automobile fuel level gauge is broken, the remaining fuel level can only be estimated by the amount of fuel level added, the usual fuel consumption and the driving mileage. Fuel gauge is divided into pointer type and digital type. As the name suggests, pointer type refers to that the amount of fuel is expressed through the pointer position; The digital type indicates the amount of remaining fuel by the mileage.Pointer type fuel level gauge, the pointer to F indicates that the fuel level tank is full. The closer to E, the lower the right, that is, the less fuel level.The fuel level gauge is broken.
The way to check the fuel level quantity is to estimate the remaining fuel level quantity based on the added oil quantity, peacetime consumption and driving mileage. The fuel gauge is used to indicate the fuel storage in the vehicle fuel tank. The function of its low oil level alarm device is to light the alarm immediately when the fuel in the fuel tank is less than a specified value, so as to attract the driver's attention. The reasons for the failure of the fuel gauge are:
1.The sliding resistance of the fuel position sensor is in poor contact or seriously worn;
2.Abnormal instrument circuit or virtual connection aging of electrical components;
3.Deformation of oil tank or abnormal support;
4. Virtual connection and open circuit in engine module;
5.The grounding wire of oil level sensor and oil pump harness on the vehicle is loose.
Reasons for the failure of the oil gauge:
1. The fuel sensor is in the fuel tank, together with the gasoline filter. If it has a problem and cannot send out the correct resistance value, it may cause the oil gauge not to display.
2. There is a problem with the oil gauge itself, which can be easily eliminated. Just replace the water temperature gauge to know whether it is the problem.
3. The problem of instrument panel circuit driving can be judged by replacing the meter core.
4. The problem of the sensor connecting wire.
Check the fuel gauge:
1. Disassemble the rear seat and unplug the connector of oil level sensor.
2. Connect the variable resistance to the connector of the oil level sensor and turn on the ignition.
3. Turn the variable resistance and observe whether the relationship between the pointer position of the fuel gauge and the resistance is consistent with table 8-45. If it matches, it indicates that the fuel gauge is normal; otherwise, it indicates that the fuel gauge or circuit is faulty.
