oil pressure gauge drops to zero when braking
The zero point of the oil pressure gauge does not mean that the actual pressure of the oil suddenly drops to zero.
Reasons for the sudden decrease of the oil pressure gauge:
1. Oil gauge and wiring failure
2. Oil sensor plug failure
3. The transmission gear of the oil pump falls off
4. The gear shaft of the oil pump and the hole of the pump cover are burnt to death
5. The camshaft bearing comes out and leaks oil
6. Lubricating oil pipes of fuel injection pumps, superchargers, air compressors, etc. are broken
7. The oil pressure limiting valve is stuck in the open position and loses the pressure regulating function
8. Oil leakage from the oil pan or filter
How to deal with sudden drop in engine oil pressure
1. Check whether there is a large amount of oil leakage on the outside. After 5 minutes, take out the oil dipstick to check whether the engine oil pan is short of oil, so as to prevent serious accidents such as burning bearings or cylinders due to lack of oil. If there is no oil, check the outside of the engine first. Is there any sign of a large amount of oil leakage? If there is any leakage, it means that the oil pipeline, filter cover, etc. are broken, or the oil pan drain plug is loose and leaks oil. It should be repaired in time, and then add oil immediately. Do not start the engine again before adding oil.
2. If the amount of engine oil is sufficient and there is no large amount of oil leakage outside, check whether the connection between the oil pressure gauge and the sensor plug is intact. OK, if the pressure is normal, you can continue to drive.
3. If the connection between the oil pressure gauge and the sensing plug is intact, the engine cannot be started blindly. Loosen the rocker arm support of the engine valve mechanism to expose the oil passage, and use the starter to drive the crankshaft to check the oil supply. If it sprays out, it means that there is no major problem with the fuel supply system, you can continue to drive, and wait for a detailed inspection at the maintenance point.
Handling after arriving at the maintenance point:
1. Loosen any oil pipe joint outside the engine, drive the crankshaft to rotate with the engine, and check the oil supply situation. If oil flows out, check whether the oil pressure limiting valve is stuck in the open position.
2.While the crankshaft is rotating, listen to the side of the camshaft for abnormal sound. If there is such a sound, further check whether the camshaft bearing is out and eliminate it in time.
3. When you loosen any oil pipe joint outside the engine, use the starter to drive the crankshaft to rotate, and there is no oil flowing out of the oil pipe, you should open the oil pan to check whether the transmission gear of the oil pump is loose. If it is good, you should further check the transmission of the oil pump. Check the working condition of the shaft, and repair it in time if any problem is found.
