If your motorcycle is water-cooled, you can install a water thermometer. If it is air-cooled, there is no water. Installing a water temp gauge is redundant. The water temp gauge install kit include gauge and sensor.

The water temp gauge install kit , the sensor is important. The water temperature sensor is generally installed on the engine cooling water channel near the thermostat at the rear of the cylinder head. If the temperature sensor of the motorcycle is broken, it may cause the indicator pin of the water temperature gauge to stay still and point to the highest position. It is difficult to start the cold car because of the water temperature sensor failure. When the cold car starts, it also displays the temperature signal of the hot car. The ECU cannot get the signal of too rich mixture and can only provide the thinner mixture of the engine. Fuel consumption increases and idle speed is unstable. It is difficult to accelerate. The accelerator is pressed to the bottom and the engine speed cannot be increased.

The function of the temperature sensor is to detect the engine temperature in real time and transmit it to the ECU in the form of electrical signals. The ECU changes the fuel injection quantity (fuel injection pulse width) according to the change of electrical signal. For example, the connecting wire from the temperature sensor to the ECU is open or short circuited during transmission. In general models, the ECU temperature pulse spectrum will automatically control the fuel injection amount and ignition time based on the engine temperature pulse spectrum of 80 degrees or 100 degrees. Most air cooled models are at 80 degrees, and water-cooled models are at 100 degrees. It is recommended to check whether the water temperature sensor can be used normally. Generally, the water temperature sensor is good or bad. Most of the water temperature sensors are resistance type, that is, the ECU passes through. Their resistance to obtain the signal. If it is ok , only install the gauge. If the sensor is not work , need to install the water temp gauge and sensor kit together.

If the water temperature is higher than the scale you usually see, suspect the cooling system; If it is close to the right side of the meter head, you should stop immediately, at least wait until it gets cold before driving, and get out of trouble as soon as possible.
