fuel level gauge moving up and down

The fuel quantity sensor floats in the fuel tank of the car. During driving, the height of the gasoline oil level will change with the bumps of the car. Therefore, the fuel quantity display during driving will be slightly different from the fuel quantity display when the car is stationary. It is normal if not too much.If the fuel gauge scale of a new car suddenly drops to zero, it indicates that there is a problem with the sensor. You can go directly to the 4S store to replace it. If it is an old car, it should be cleaned in time. Because there are many impurities in the gasoline, and the oil level sensor has been immersed in it for a long time, it will be polluted, which directly affects the accuracy of the indication.

After fueling and speeding up, do not immediately shift to neutral. First slide in gear for a while, then shift to neutral, and the pointer of the tachometer will not swing. The inaccurate indication of the fuel gauge is mainly related to the instrument and liquid level sensor (oil pump). If these components are replaced, it may be a problem with the fuel. Poor quality of the fuel will lead to inaccurate signal transmission of the sensor. It is recommended to clean the fuel tank, and then try to add two compartments of gasoline to the regular direct fuel filling station.

Reason of fuel level gauge moving up and down:

First, the instrument is damaged. Second, the circuit. Third, the oil float is damaged. First, check whether the live wire and the bonding wire of the oil float circuit are normal. If not, check the circuit. If the oil float is removed normally, move it up and down by hand. If it moves, the oil float is damaged. If it does not move, check the oil gauge.

Switch the key again. If the switch still doesn't work, it is recommended to run for a while and check it again. It still doesn't work after running for a while. It is recommended to replace the oil float.

It depends on which car the fuel gauge of some cars picks up slowly. It may take five or six minutes before it returns to its original position. In general, it is mainly the difference between electronic and mechanical. The oil meter can use elliptical gear flowmeter or turbine flowmeter to measure the volume flow of diesel, gasoline, lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, gear oil, fuel oil, engine oil, kerosene, etc.
