fuel level gauge moving very slow in car

After the car is filled with oil, the pointer position of the fuel gauge does not change, or it needs to wait for a period of time or rise slowly during driving. This is a problem that exists in many cars. Some novice drivers only pay no attention to the fuel gauge when refueling, but suddenly find that the fuel volume does not increase during driving; So they will worry about whether the car will leak oil or whether the gas station has filled the gas. In fact, the problem lies not in the gas station, but in the indication principle and reaction speed of the two types of fuel meters.

After refueling, you need to wait for dozens of minutes or hours, or even the next day after the engine is turned off to see the normal fuel level; Most of the vehicles with such problems use mechanical fuel meters. In the past, the fuel quantity of cars and vans was mostly displayed by "pointer". The back of the pointer is not an electronic motor, but a group of "bimetal pressure regulator". However, before understanding the regulator, it is also necessary to understand the relationship between "oil float" and oil quantity. There will be a floating ball inside the fuel tank of the vehicle, and the floating ball is connected with a wire; Fuel consumption and filling will naturally float up and down, and the change of the vertical height of the floating ball will drive the wire to adjust the variable resistance.

1: Only the fuel gauge has not changed a little during refueling, nor has it changed after startup.

This is also common, but it is not a fault or other reason; The main problem is that the start switch stays at the on position when refueling. At this time, the oil pump continues to operate (pump oil), and the electronic oil gauge also continues to operate; Theoretically, the resistance value of oil floating will also be changed after refueling, and will gradually increase with the change of oil level. However, some vehicles do not re read the data with the change of resistance and current during the filling process. If the vehicle is not completely flameout, the collected data is still before the flameout; The data is stored in the "RAM" of the ECU trip computer. After startup, it is still displayed according to the previous collected data, so the electronic scale of the fuel gauge will not change. The only way to solve this problem is to shut down the engine completely (unplug the key or turn off the engine with one key), and then start it again to read the latest collected data, that is, the fuel quantity will be displayed normally.
