fuel level gauge stick on

After the fuel slick gets stuck, the car may recover on its own when driving over a bumpy road. If the car keeps running smoothly, the fuel swell won't heal itself. The fuel float is an important part of the fuel metering system. If the fuel slick becomes stuck or damaged, the fuel gauge on the dash will not show the correct amount of fuel remaining.

1. Remove the fuel pump

The fuel slick, the fuel level sensor of the tank, is usually connected to the fuel pump. When the fuel float gets stuck, the fuel pump needs to be removed for disposal. Many people mistakenly believe that because the connecting rod between the fuel level sensor and the float is stuck, the float cannot float up and down normally, causing the float to break. This condition will cause the fuel gauge needle to freeze in place.

2.car fuel slick

Car fuel slicks can float on the surface of gasoline. One part of the joystick is the fuel slick and the other end is the potentiometer. When the liquid level drops, the potentiometer is turned by the lever principle. The potential of different positions is different, and the 3 resistance values are also different.

3.fuel float stuck or damaged

Therefore, the corresponding voltage is also different, which can be seen on the vehicle instrument. If the fuel float is stuck or damaged, the fuel gauge pointer will not be visible on the vehicle gauges as it rotates. If the fuel float is damaged or aged, the fuel float will not float, resulting in slow response of the fuel gauge and affecting judgment.
4 Prevent the fuel slick from breaking.

We don't have many ways to prevent the fuel slick from breaking because the fuel is in the tank, so we can only choose the better quality gasoline we can. Because clean gasoline will reduce impurities in the fuel pump, greatly reducing the probability of fuel meter failure. In addition, the fuel circuit and tank can be cleaned regularly. If it is an old car, it must be cleaned in time. Because gasoline contains a lot of impurities, and the fuel level sensor has been soaked in it, it will be polluted after a long time, which directly affects the accuracy of the indication. Poor fuel quality will also lead to inaccurate fuel gauges. Choosing clean gasoline can reduce the accumulation of impurities in gasoline in the fuel tank, thereby reducing the situation where the fuel gauge does not move.
