oil pressure gauge reading 0

What should I do when the engine oil pressure gauge indicates "0" while driving? The engine oil pressure gauge and the oil pressure warning lamp are basically indicators of the working conditions of the engine lubrication system. Once it is found that the engine oil pressure indicator is zero and the pressure alarm light is on during driving, stop the vehicle immediately for detection, and continue driving only after it is determined that the engine oil pressure of the lubrication system is normal.

Treatment method: shut down the engine immediately and check whether the fuse is blown. If it is not blown, pull out the engine oil scale and check the engine oil quantity. If it is insufficient, add it immediately; If the oil quantity is normal, remove the valve cover and start the engine. If the engine oil splashes, it means that the lubrication system is normal. The fault lies in the engine oil pressure indication system; If there is no splash of engine oil, shut down the engine immediately and overhaul the lubrication system.

How to do:

① Close the ignition switch, start the engine and keep the engine running at a medium speed. If the pointer of the fuel gauge is also below 0 at this time, it indicates that a section of wire from the ignition switch to the terminal on the fuel gauge is disconnected. If the pointer of the oil gauge changes rapidly from 0 to 5, there is a fault in the circuit from the oil gauge to the pressure sensor.

② Ground the oil pressure sensor terminal. If the pointer of the fuel gauge is at the corresponding position of the fuel volume in the tank, use a screwdriver to ground the terminal of the oil pressure sensor. If the pointer of the oil gauge is still below 0, the connection between the terminal on the fuel gauge and the oil gauge may be disconnected, the oil gauge may be damaged, and the connection between the oil gauge and the oil pressure sensor may be disconnected.

③ Check the oil. After grounding the oil pressure sensor terminal, if the pointer of the oil gauge quickly turns to 5, pull out the dipstick to check the oil quantity. If the depth indicated on the oil dipstick is less than 2/4, the engine is seriously short of oil.

④ Check the oil pressure sensor. If the oil dipstick shows that the oil depth is more than 2/4, further remove the oil pressure sensor to connect the housing with iron, and then use an iron needle to grind off the sharp end and insert it into the top pressing film in the oil pressure sensor hole. At this time, if the pointer of the oil gauge turns to 5, it indicates that there is a fault in the oil circuit; If the pointer of the oil gauge is still below the 0 position, it indicates that the oil pressure sensor has failed.
