fuel level sensor for motorcycle
The oil level sensors of all motorcycles are installed in the fuel tank, and the sensors of pedals and bent beams can be removed from the fuel tank. For straddling motorcycles, the fuel tank should be removed, reversed and removed from below.
Most of the motorcycle oil level sensors are damaged and cannot be repaired effectively. The best way is to replace them with new sensors of the same model. There are many types of oil level sensors, and their damage conditions are also different. Some plastic sensors may be soaked and expanded by gasoline, which may cause the float to become tight and unable to float up and down. In this way, gently pry the card at the iron needle wire to make it loose. Some floats are immersed in oil after being soaked in gasoline, which becomes heavy and cannot float. In this case, a separate float can be used. If the sliding variable cathode part is damaged, it basically has no repair value. It's better to replace it with a new one.
Open the rocker arm cover. There are two types of sensors in the motorcycle fuel tank. The other is the magnet + hall induction type, and the other is the variable resistance sliding rod type. Just replace it. There is a 47K sealed variable resistor inside. Take down the sensor for detection.
If the sensor assembly can be taken out from the oil filler of the oil tank, first remove the old sensor assembly, find the sensor wiring at the bottom of the oil tank, remove the wiring, and then drain the oil in the oil tank, then unscrew the screw of the sensor, and take out the assembly from the inside (oil filler). If the float connecting rod is long, it can be properly bent; Install the sensor assembly after adjustment or replacement. Pay special attention to the oil resistant sealing rubber ring to prevent oil leakage.
The adjustment of the fuel sensor of the motorcycle is very simple. As long as the height of the oil float is adjusted, the oil level indication position of the fuel gauge can be changed. If the fuel sensor is original, it is safe. It has been debugged. You can rest assured that as long as you do not install electrical things in the fuel tank, it is generally OK. The original car has fuses, and the power will be cut off in case of a short circuit.
