1: Park the vehicle horizontally, preferably with the engine warm, and check the oil level with a dipstick. Dipsticks have colored handles that are usually easy to identify. 3:Check oil level is correct
When the correct oil level is reached, screw the oil cap back on. Start the engine running for 10 minutes, then turn off. Measure the oil level with the dipstick again. If the oil level is too low, add more oil.
4. Clean up
Clean the oil spilled from the engine and check the drain plug for leaks.
5. Properly dispose of used oil and used oil filters
Used waste oil is highly toxic and should not be disposed of as ordinary household waste. It is illegal to pour waste oil into the sewage system. Make sure to dispose of used oil safely and properly.
