oil pressure sensor keeps failing
The failure of the oil pressure sensor will lead to the failure of the detected oil pressure. The oil indicator light will be on, and the vehicle engine fault light will be on. When the vehicle oil is not abnormal, it is generally because the oil pressure sensor has failed. The oil pressure sensor is installed on the main oil passage of the engine. Under the working condition of the engine, the pressure measuring device can measure the oil pressure and convert the pressure signal into an electrical signal, which is sent to the signal processing circuit, and then the signal is sent to the oil pressure indicator to indicate the oil pressure of the engine. With the continuous development of the automobile industry, the traditional mechanical pressure sensor has become an electronic pressure sensor, which is directly connected with the automobile oil pressure indicator and alarm lamp. Compared with the traditional sensor, the electronic oil pressure sensor has the advantages of no machinery, high precision and strong reliability, which can effectively improve the reliability of the pressure sensor. Fault phenomenon: due to the low oil pressure, the engine protection function works, forcing the engine power and speed down, and may shut down the engine for protection. The oil pressure sensor is installed in the cylinder block.
The oil pressure signal display indicates that the engine oil pressure is lower than the specified value. The ECM considers it as a fault and stores the fault in the form of fault code 415. At this time, due to the low oil pressure, the engine protection function works, forcing the engine power and speed to drop, and may shut down the engine for protection. The oil pressure sensor is installed on the cylinder block and the oil pressure sensor circuit.
(1) Check the accuracy of the sensor with a mechanical pressure gauge. Connect the mechanical pressure gauge to the main oil passage of the engine, and connect the insite (TM) laptop computer to the data communication interface. Start the engine and compare the reading of the pressure gauge with the value displayed on the screen. When the pressure difference is within 34.47 kPa (5psi), the sensor reading is correct. Otherwise, the sensor reading is incorrect. Find out the cause of low oil pressure and eliminate the fault.
(2) Clear the fault code. After analysis and troubleshooting, make the active fault code 415 no longer work, use the insite (TM) laptop computer to clear the non active codes, and finally confirm that all fault codes have been cleared.
