The function of the water temperature sensor is to convert the cooling water temperature into an electrical signal and input it into the electronic control unit:

Modify the fuel injection quantity; Increase fuel injection at low temperature. Correct the ignition advance angle; Increase the ignition advance angle at low temperature, and postpone the ignition advance angle at high temperature to prevent deflagration . Affect idle speed control valve; When the temperature is low, the electronic control unit controls the action of the idle speed control valve according to the water temperature sensing signal to improve the speed.

The water temperature sensor should be divided into two parts, one is the water supply thermometer that provides signals , and the other is the one that provides signals to the computer. It should be on the water channel in front of the engine, that is, along the water supply pipe of the water tank to the cylinder head near the engine. Temperature detection is composed of two parts. One is the detection and sensing part, which is the water temperature sensor , also known as the temperature probe. We know the water temperature through the scale. Therefore, if the sensor is broken, the water temperature gauge is inaccurate.

The power supply of the water temperature gauge comes from the power regulator. It is not allowed to connect it directly with the live wire of the power supply on the vehicle, otherwise the reading of the indicator will be inaccurate, and even the instrument will be damaged . Ensure that the sensor is well sealed to prevent water leakage from invalidating the sensor . If the water temperature gauge and sensor of the car have been matched and damaged, the water temperature indicator or sensor of other models cannot be installed, and the new parts of the same model should be replaced.
