fuel level sensor failure
The fuel level sensor failure, which will cause the engine oil light. That is, there is an engine oil light on the instrument . Because the oil pressure is too low, the engine protection function works, forcing the engine power and speed down , and may shut down the engine for protection . The oil pressure sensor is installed in the cylinder block.
Then turn off the ignition switch , plug the plug back into the sensor , and connect the oscilloscope to the signal line end and ground wire end by back plugging . Under normal conditions , the same waveform should be generated on the oscilloscope after the ignition switch is turned on . The actual measured waveform is basically consistent with the standard waveform . Start the engine until the engine temperature rises to the normal operating temperature . Use the infrared thermometer to measure that the oil pan temperature has risen to 70 ℃ , but the waveform displayed on the oscilloscope is still the same as when the vehicle is cold . This indicates that the fault is caused by the fuel level / temperature sensor .
Replace the sensor, add oil and warm up the vehicle. When the measured temperature of the oil pan is 74 ℃, observe that the oil temperature gauge on the instrument panel indicates 80 ℃, and measure the waveform again. Through comparison , we can see the difference in the output waveform of the sensor when the oil is not added to the cold car , after the oil is added to the cold car , and when the oil temperature of the hot car is 80 ℃. So far, we can identify and eliminate the fault .
What happens if the fuel level sensor fails? 1. The scale of the oil gauge suddenly drops to zero: some drivers see two squares before driving, but after a certain distance, the scale of the fuel gauge will directly fall to zero. 2. The scale of the fuel gauge rises: the pointer of the fuel gauge stays at a certain position for a long time, and some even travel a certain distance. The scale shows the value instead of decreasing. This phenomenon usually occurs due to the internal fault of the fuel level sensor, so it needs to be replaced.
