oil pressure gauge stuck on high
oil pressure gauge stuck on high
The reasons for the oil pressure gauge reaching the high are:
1.Too little oil storage, resulting in no oil or little oil in the lubrication system, resulting in low oil pressure;
2.The oil pressure is low or no pressure;
3.The oil is thin or the oil becomes thinner due to the high temperature of the engine, which will leak from the gaps of the friction pairs of the engine;
4.The suction and pump output of oil are reduced;
5.The clearance between the crankshaft and the large and small tiles exceeds the standard, resulting in oil leakage;
6.The pressure limiting valve or pressure relief valve spring is too soft or the hairpin or steel ball damage causes the valve function to disappear or weaken;
7. Oil sensor plug, pressure gauge or circuit failure.
The indicated value of the oil pressure gauge is too high:
When the engine is just started, the pressure indicated by the oil pressure gauge is high due to low oil temperature and high viscosity. However, as the engine temperature rises, the oil viscosity decreases and stabilizes within a specified range, which is a normal phenomenon (note that in cold weather, the engine must be preheated and warmed before starting). If the oil pressure exceeds 350kPa all the time, it can be regarded as high oil pressure. The main reasons for the high oil pressure are as follows: first, the grade of the oil used does not meet the requirements.
For example, the use of summer engine oil in winter not only makes it difficult to start, but also affects the work of the lubrication system.
Second, the oil filter or main oil passage is blocked and the opening pressure of the return valve (also known as the bypass valve) is too high.
Third, the pressure limiting valve and oil return valve spring are adjusted too tightly or the valve is stuck in the closed position.
Fourth, during engine overhaul, the fit clearance between crankshaft and connecting rod bearings is too small, and the oil return is not smooth (at the same time, it is difficult to enter the friction surface), resulting in excessive oil pressure.
The oil pressure is too high, it is difficult to form a good oil film on the friction surface, the lubrication condition becomes worse, which accelerates the wear of parts, and it is also easy to damage the gasket or oil seal, resulting in oil leakage. Therefore, the cause should be found out and eliminated in time.
